Deep down south in Egypt on the West Bank of the Nile, near the city of Aswan, are the most colorful villages of the entire country. The Nubian Villages painted in all the colors of the rainbow. To start farming around the Nile, the friendly Nubians moved from Sudan over 8000 years ago, which is why they have a darker skin tone. They have their own unique language that they never teach to an outsider. Visit the charming Nubian village in Aswan, and learn about its people with Magic life tours.

1. Description

Upon arrival at the village, you will be treated to very colorful houses, built according to Nubian architecture from mud bricks which are a mixture of clay, water, hay, and sand. All of these materials are natural which make less prone to house diseases, inexpensive, and the clay texture of the bricks is also less affected by heat. Over each house, you will find a dome-shaped ceiling designed to distribute the sun’s heat equally throughout the inside of the house. Moreover, the Nubian people love to decorate their houses using simple yet delightful colors; not only that, they commonly draw shapes from the Nubian culture on the walls of their houses, like boats, camels, and palms.

2. Activities to do in the nubian village

There is much to do in this village. First, you must walk around and soak in the beautiful shades of colour and the art stroked along the walls. You could also indulge in shopping at the local market—roasted nuts, trinkets, Nubian dolls, clothing and souvenirs are up for grabs.
